PAINTING

Doing abstract paintings by intuition, I follow my idea, desire and process to make visible the invisible that is inside us and beyond us. My abstract paintings are materialized on a support (canvas, paper, recycled cardboard) that becomes a sensitive place, through gestures which represent a delicately cathartic moment, because they requires my deep attention. It's a kind of philosophical and meditative attention that I recognize in being "here and now" with suspension of judgment. The energy produced by the vibrations of the colors I choose plays an important role as in my case the colors are the perfect carriers of the substance of art. I have developed a special relationship with colors. A psychophysical attraction towards a sensitive medium. As if it were calling me and choosing me, asking me to restore justice to it by giving it actualization. Almost the materiality of him needed the materiality of my hand to live.

The last 4 paintings shown in the gallery constitute the nucleus of a project "The word is concept” of an artistic-philosophical nature, that arises from a reflection of the artist on the word-thought relationship in the contemporary world.
This project highlights the need to reflect on the crisis of language in the digital era, on the crisis of critical thinking and on the origins of the crisis – also economic, of the Western system.
From another perspective.
A first observation of a semantic nature - regarding our verbal and written language, points out that the etymological meaning of words is being lost, in particular of those important in terms of meaning - intelligence, love, politics, philosophy, beauty ... .. that emptied of their original meaning are -  for example, used in market / advertising contexts or used in meaningless contexts. Words thus depleted and violated drag their meaning and the profound thought they convey into the process of trivialization. And so they are used in common language. Furthermore, due to the need for abbreviation dictated by the indispensable (and also fun!)interaction and digital writing tools, sms, e-mails ..... words are mostly fragmented, syncopated, deprived of punctuation, of time, and of the space of the sentence, which is thus unstructured. In this way a syntactically incorrect and convoluted sentence is outlined, unable to formulate a thought that is complete, logical, synthetic, contextualized over time, and original in the sense of personal: because abbreviations are approved and often suggested and imposed by the program / system itself.
The passage from the deconstruction of contemporary language (remember that language is "The house of being, Martin Heidegger")- therefore of the most ineffable and profound component of human being - to the deconstruction of critical thinking, therefore to the habit of thinking autonomously and analytically and vice versa, is automatic. I, the artist, think that the crisis of language - cause and consequence of the cultural crisis of contemporary Western social systems - is one of the primary causes of the current economic crisis, alongside the ethical drift. In the history of humanity already on another occasion language has shown all its power: authoritative studies on the subject of historical linguistics would affirm that the development of a more complex language guaranteed the survival of Homo Sapiens. Even compared to the Neanderthal, his contemporary, stronger and resist - only physically though. This prehistoric reference also helps us to understand the link between language and thought and the development of humanity.Some painting illustrates tout court the crisis of language, others, on the other hand, highlight the power and charm of words and thought.All these works invite the viewer to knowledge "to think about one's way of speaking, writing and thinking": to the possibility of placing oneself in the social fabric as a subject capable of constructive thought even if dissonant with the trend in vogue, as a subject skilled in choosing and use of words, in the construction of a meaningful and at the same time brilliant, articulated and rich language - through which to convey the concepts of a mind that looks at reality with a critical spirit. A proposal that goes totally against the trend – compared to the current trend, language trend which I do not hesitate to define involutional for human language and brain-depleting. To give voice to words such as intelligence, depth, justice. And body to their consequences on humanity.
